U: Hi. How are things?
J: Fine, thanks. I've just had a great holiday.

U: Where ?
J: To the U.S. We went on a trip from San Francisco to Denver.

U: How ? By car?
J: Yes, we hired a car in San Francisco.

U: It's a long way to drive. How long ?
J: Two weeks.

U: Where ? In hotels?
J: Yes, small hotels or motels.

U: ?
J: Yes, but it was very hot - sometimes too hot.

U: the Grand Canyon?
J: Of course. It was wonderful.
